Homeless Man Falls To The Ground. Internet Brought To Tears By The Only One That Helped...

We've all been in a situation where we could've helped out more, but decided not to. Whether it's helping pick up someone's spilled items, giving money or food to a panhandler or a different scenario, there's always a way to go above and beyond. That's why one group of videographers got together for an important social experiment. They wanted to know if appearance changes the likelihood of others helping?

Even though we might not see the homeless population every day, it's a problem that's as rampant as ever. In fact, Reuters reported that there are more than 500,000 homeless people in the United States - and a quarter of the homeless population are children. These people have no steady source of food, a safe place to rest their heads or income that can help pull them out of homelessness. Not only does this population have to fend for themselves for their most basic needs, but they also have to go on without any help from strangers. This was the reason behind the powerful experiment in the video below.

The creators of this experiment wanted to find out whether or not appearance made a difference when it came to helping someone who had fallen down. First, the crew dressed an actor in business clothes and had him "fall" to the ground. Hoards of strangers rushed to his aid and tried to help get him back on his feet. But when a person dressed in tattered clothing, obviously representing a homeless man, fell to the ground, the results were much different. Take a peek at the collective response to a homeless person in need by pressing "play" on the video below. How heartbreaking...
